About Us
ThePinkTableTalk, LLC is a non-profit organization formed to provide advocacy, information and support to recently diagnosed, in treatment and in remission survivors of breast cancer. Our mission is to enhance awareness of breast cancer through educational programs and to establish a voice in the community; also educating about the disparities in healthcare. Our vision is to incorporate avenues of research, communication with legislators and public forums for Q&A sessions.
Founded by Dana M. Johnson, a Milwaukee area native and tireless advocate/volunteer for breast cancer awareness, The PinkTableTalk was born out of Johnson’s 20 years of experience and advocacy. This began when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It has provided opportunities for her being invited to participate in some of the largest and most noted breast cancer organizations and institutions in Wisconsin and Washington, D.C.; this includes the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition, National Breast Cancer Coalition, Komen SEWI, and the American Cancer Society of WI, as well Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
The PinkTableTalk is a voice for women and men who have been impacted by breast cancer, whether as a patient, survivor, caregiver or loved one. ThePinkTableTalk also focuses on the educational component of breast cancer advocacy, reporting on cutting edge new research and policy driven aspects in the search for a cure, and especially as it pertains to the information, resources and support available in disadvantaged communities which are often overlooked and underserved.
ThePinkTableTalk podcast and blog is where the voices of those affected by, and those working to end, breast cancer will be brought together via our YouTube channel. Around a metaphorical pink table, we hope to invite everyone to take a seat and “Let’s Have the Conversation.”
Our episodes will include conversations with advocates, survivors, guests, doctors, scientists and talks with you via an audio clip format. We offer to you our collective voices and unique perspectives about breast cancer and as a means of
understanding, coping and surviving. So join us for a seat at the table.
